This Saturday, grab a stack of serviettes, your favourite drink, and your burger bestie and check out one of these burger joints for International Burger Day! Whenever we chat to our fav On The List A-Listers we ask them the important questions, like where to get the best burger. We’ve pulled these together into a list (surprise!), added our personal faves, and tossed in a couple of classics.

ON THE LISTERS LOVE…

Michael Beveridge, Radio Announcer, 1090 Burger
Stack em’ high, roll up your sleeves, and get ready to get dirty. It’s a sloppy greasy burger and Michael Beveridge can’t get enough. In fact, he’s over any other burger joint! We can’t blame him. Their burgers are fantastically good. Also, we can’t wait to get our hands on their 1090 fries!

Tommy Little, Comedian, Easey’s
Best burger in Melbourne? It’s an easy choice for cheeky Tommy Little. It’s good old Easey’s! Where else can you smash down a burger in a refurbished train carriage? Big eaters can look forward to munching on a Melbourne Madness burger. It’s a chock-full of crazy and delicious!

Simon Taylor, Comedian, Danny’s Burgers
Simon Taylor goes a full blown classic with Danny’s sloppy, messy, but delicious burger. Besides, where else can you satisfy a goooood burger craving at 1 in the morning?

Tad Lombardo, Chocolatier, Tuckshop Takeaway
It’s a small classic burger joint so expect a limited menu so why not try a bunch and discover your own personal favorite? We also suggest trying out their milkshakes and daily special soft serve. PS: We love their Insty page (Three words: Lego people and burgers).

Sarah Holloway, Spoonful of Sarah & Matcha Maiden, Mr. Mister Cafe
Sarah Holloway doesn’t name a burger place, but she does love Mr. Mister Cafe! They make a mean soft shell crab burger with harissa mayo, fennel slaw, and spiced cucumbers. It’s the perfect brunch burger!

WE LOVE…
Demazzi Stone Grill
This isn’t your typical burger joint, but it’s home to one of the sloppiest and (dare we say?) yummiest burgers in Melbourne. Their must-try burger is a Burgers of Melbourne creation called the ‘Lucky Mac’. It’s a double beef, double cheese, jalapeños, lettuce, and mac sauce monstrosity that pairs amazingly well with a fried chicken or pulled pork add on. They’ve also got some pretty cool freakshakes.

Grand Trailer Park
Grand Trailer Park is not just home to one of the best ice creams (technically, a parfait) in Melbourne, they also have some out-of-this-world burgers! We can’t get enough of their Francis Underwood burger. Think a mac and cheese croquette sandwiched between a premium Aussie patty, all the fixings, and delish special burger sauce stacked on a toasted brioche bun. Don’t forget to try their salted caramel shake with bourbon and maple bacon.

Royal Stacks
The wooden walls, bursts of greenery, and mouthwatering burgers of Royal Stacks is reminiscent of New York favorite Shake Shack. It’s tough competition, but Royal Stacks might just come out as king of burgers especially when they offer a Prince Harry burger – the gherkin mayo sauce is amazing! But don’t overlook the Miss Elizabeth burger with the moreish truffle mayo. For dessert, be sure to grab some frozen custard to share!

JD’s Burgers
Burger chomping champions this one’s for you! Smash down a burger with 4 patties in 4 minutes, and it’s yours free! Even if you’re not an advocate for speed eating, you can also still enjoy their Asian fusion burgers at your own pace. They’ve got over 15 burgers to choose from, so you’re spoilt for choice!

The Burger Project
Neil Perry’s latest food venture is oh-so-gooood and found in the brand new St Collins Lane. We love the Bacon Project burger and the just-a-little-sloppy Chili Cheese burger. If you’re looking for something a little different, go straight for the Spicy Fried Chicken Katsu. It’s got just the right kick of heat. Exhibit A in the image for this article. YUM!

Thaiger
It’s burgers with an Asian twist! Think soft-shell crab with Asian slaw and their signature mayo in a black bun. Adventurous eaters can also try out their Ox Tongue Black Burger.

TIMELESS CLASSICS…
Trunk Diner
Trunk Diner is one of those places that always seem to have the coolest events. Aside from hosting awesome garden parties, they have the best customizable burger. Start with a medium-rare Wagyu-burger with tomatoes, pickles, and a brioche bun, pick your favorite toppings, and assemble it for your perfect burger. Pair it with their Golden Gaytime milkshake (if you’re feeling extra naughty, spike it with Café Patron!) and you’re set for lunch.

8Bit
Combine a love for burgers and pixelated games and you’ve got 8Bit. Just like a good old Mario Kart game, you can’t go wrong with a classic 8Bit with cheese.
