For the love of street food! The Food Truck Park has rolled out Melbourne’s favourite food trucks to its newest site, the Fashion Capital Chadstone, hand delivering us a mighty fine case of street food meets fashion.
With crates, greenery and fashionable quotes, The Food Truck Park is located at Chadstone, ground level outside near the Coles entrance. It will be open from 11am – 10pm daily from now until 3 January 2016.
Each day is different with 30+ food trucks on rotation.
We had no choice but to head down for the afternoon and do some ‘sampling’ for you, just to make sure they were bring the goods. And boy have they ever.
Would you believe it wasn’t a salad or sushi that caught our fashionable attention, it was Wingsters delicious Buffalo chicken wings! Yes that’s right, the messy goodness you eat with two hands, leaning well over a plate, away from your new purchases and with a wet-one on hand.
Steering us well clear from a hangry state was Mamma Van with her famous crispy prawn, Cajun chicken, pulled pork and beef brisket Po’ Boys, and Those Guys offering up American classics. Order up of the Philly cheese steak and Texas chilli cheese fries yes please.
Stay on trend with a fusion meal option, we couldn’t go past Caliko’s Kimchi Quesadilla. It’s one of the funkier fusions with Caliko being a mix between Californian, Korea and Mexican. Fun and yum. We highly recommend though that you save some room for VANGO’s soft shell mud crab burger. Perfect summer snack.
Hot tip: Quench your thirst with refreshing mocktails from Those Girls.
Treat time! Sweet tooth lovers you have got to try the eye-popping ice-cream sandwiches from Biskit Bar! But good luck choosing between ‘Biggie S’Mores’ choc-cherry waffle + vanilla ice-cream + the Biskit Bar marshmallow sauce and the fun ‘Shuga Pop’. They look as good as they taste.
