The super sombrero wearing team at Zambrero are making is their mission this World Hunger Day to pack more than 324,000 meals to be donated as part of their ongoing Plate 4 Plate initiative.

They’re teamed up with the legends at Stop Hunger Now and Foodbank Australia who together have a dream to help eradicate world hunger. But no surprises they need a little help doing it.

So, this Friday, Oct 16 Zambrero needs 220 of us Melburnians to get out to their Melbourne Uni Campus and help them pack a cool 55,000 meals.

Here’s some stats that might help convince you. According to the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, 795 million people are undernourished globally. 1 out of 10 Australians seek food relief each year and over 60,000 Australians are still being turned away from charities, due to food and resource shortage.

It’s pretty easy, tap the boss on the shoulder and explain that you and your team want to spend 3 short hours, making a huge difference in the lives of starving people.

Then just decide which session you can make:
9am- 1pm
1pm – 5pm

It’s at Grand Buffet Hall at Union House University of Melbourne, Parkville, VIC.

We totally understand that volunteering isn’t for everyone, but eating sure is, so if you can’t get there to help on the day, duck into your local Zambrero and munch on a tasty burrito because all Zambrero restaurants will also double their Plate 4 Plate donation for every burrito and bowl sold on October 16, 2015.

If you can get involved and volunteer, here is where you sign up
