It’s that time of the year where winter is at it’s chilliest and we wrap our coziest scarves around our neck just a little (okay, a lot) tighter. In order to beat the winter blues, we’ve handpicked 13 of Melbourne’s best events this month. So whether you want to feast on truffles, sweat it out with Fury Yoga or embrace the cold, we’ve got your July sorted.

FOOD & DRINK

Blackstar Pastry Farewell Party (July 2)
The creators of Sydney’s Insta-famous strawberry watermelon cake are wrapping up their Melbourne stint with a bang. Teaming up with the city’s best Filipino pop-up, this unlikely collaboration will bring together exotic dishes and unique flavours at Carlton’s Café Italia. Expect all your favourite Blackstar pastries with a side of Cebu-style lechon, crispy crackling and chicken adobo courtesy of Hoy Pinoy.

We know, we know, we just kicked off truffle season with a weekend-long Truffle Festival –but this one is for those Southside. On for one day only, Prahran Market is celebrating all things truffle and charcuterie. Expect truffle Cacio e Pepe, scallops topped with truffle butter and truffled chocolate waffle doughnuts.

Brewing for Beginners – Craft & Co. (July 27)
Sure we all love a good pint, but if you’re ready to try your hand at crafting then this is the class for you. On July 27, Craft & Co. will be teaching future brewers the basics of home brewing and bottling. Oh, and did we mention there’ll also be matched tastings with charcuterie and cheese?

FITNESS

Fury Yoga (July 7)
Fury Yoga is taking over Bar Open and serving up some powerful vinyasa yoga with a side of attitude. It’s the perfect outlet to release any pent up anger and stress. And if all those downward dogs and warrior poses don’t do the trick, we promise the FREE pot of beer at the end of class will.

Gertrude Street Projection Festival (July 21 – 30)
The Gertrude Street Projection Festival turns 10 this year! So it’s only fitting that the famed Gertrude Street in Fitzroy will be transformed into a light and projection outdoor hub for 10 days.
