Back for their 23rd year, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week has been revamped into Melbourne Fashion Week. From September 1 – 8, Melbourne is transforming into a fashion and beauty mecca. There’s a luxurious multi-sensory dinner and runaway show, a one-night only shopping spree happening all across the CBD and a chance to party alongside vintage haute couture.

On for one-night only, Vogue American Express Fashion Night Out is back for their 3rd year. Hundreds of leading international and local retailers will be taking over the Melbourne CBD with special deals and tailored experiences. So sip on free champagne, catch a runway show and shop til you drop.

House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture
AUGUST 27 – NOVEMBER 7

In a Melbourne-exclusive, the NGV and the House of Dior have collaborated to bring together 140 garments designed by Christian Dior from 1947 to 2017. Celebrating House of Dior’s 70th anniversary, the exhibition examines the individual and collective impact of the seven designers who have shaped the history, design and style of the renowned couture house. Highlights include samples from the iconic spring 1947 New Look collection.

Gala Dinner ft. Martin Grant
SEPTEMBER 2

It might just be the most unusual runway show of the year. Melbourne-bred, Paris-based designer Martin Grant is collaborating with a celebrated Melbourne chef to pull off a solo runway show paired with a decadent dining experience. Inspired by the changing seasons, fashion, food, music and art take guests on a whirlwind multi-sensory journey. It’s a black-tie affair with champagne and canapés on arrival, four bespoke cocktails inspired by the seasons and a three-course feast to indulge in as well as an exclusive gift bag to take home.

 

A Tribute to Schiaparelli – An Intimate Surrealist Fashion Soirée
SEPTEMBER 7

Join The Eternal Headonist and The Accessories Project for an evening celebrating Surrealist-inspired designer, Schiaparelli. Once Coco Chanel’s fiercest rival, Elsa Schiaparelli was among the most renowned pre-World War II designers. In the intimate Georges Arcade store, vintage Schiaparelli hats and jewelry is showcased alongside millinery inspired by the iconic designer. So dress in your Schiaparelli best, be entertained with burlesque dancers, surreal fashion and photography and raise a bespoke drink to this 1930’s fashion icon.
