It might not be the sunshine and bbq’s that are synonymous with Xmas in Australia, but today, just 45 days out from Xmas, Myer has officially launched their 60th season of the Christmas windows today and it couldn’t feel more like Xmas is coming!

The Myer Melbourne Christmas Window Display is the ultimate pressie that we can never get in trouble for opening early. Us Melburnians love tradition and this is a generational one that is nostalgic for anyone who grew up in this fabulous city.

The glamorous Rebecca Maddern hosted the festivities, along with the CEO of Myer Richard Umbers and our cheery Lord Mayor.

During the unveiling there was a bright eyes yougn boy who kept curiously asking if anyone had seen his dog…the first clue as to what the window theme is for this year.

We know from past years that the window’s have been themed around Peter Pan, Snow White and The Seven Dwarves and Alice in Wonderland. So, along with all the other eager window’s fans, we couldn’t wait to it to be revealed.

And who better than the face of Myer, the gorgeous Jen Hawkins to help pull the cord on the black curtain in-front of the windows to reveal…a very Melbourne theme this year, Little Dog and the Christmas Wish a local Melbourne children’s book. The display plays homage to 1950-60’s Melbourne and has been brought to life beautifully through visuals, sound, art and animation…

The Christmas excitement at Myer doesn’t end at the window display, good ol’ Santa Land is back in full swing including Santa of course but there are even better treats for the big kids of Melbourne. Up on level 6 of Myer you will find all kinds of great gift suggestions including our fav (hint hint) personalised jars of Nutella! Just imagine being able to tell someone to get their hands off your jar of hazelnut goodness and then being able to back it up with your name on there.

We’re like kids on Christmas morning right now after watching the gorgeous Jen Hawkins unveil the display today, feast your eyes on the masterpiece yourself from today until the 4th of January 2016 from 7:30am till 1am daily!
