Melbourne Zoo is running their first Murder Mystery dinner, and it’s murder on the 70s dancefloor! Get Otter here! We know. So how does it work? Well, Murder Mystery dinners traditionally involve guests working together to solve a crime while feasting on a fabulous two-course meal and in this case sipping on unlimited beverages throughout the night.
You’ll need to be dressed and ready to play your part as the era this murder takes place is the 1970s. You’ll need to be ready to punk out with the retro 70s, think flares, platform shoes and all kinds of jumpsuits. If you’re looking for some celeb inspo, you can come dressed as Bowie, Farrah Fawcett or the whole of ABBA. Head to your favourite costume store or raid your cupboard and come dressed ready for some disco fever!
You’ll be seated at shared tables to solve the mystery but choose who you sit next to very carefully. Remember, keep your friends close and your anemones closer.
You’ll need to stay fuelled throughout the night as you’ll need all your strength to solve this mystery. The Restaurant Associated at Melbourne Zoo have solved the puzzle of what to feed a group of detectives.
For entrée, they’re serving ham hock terrine with cornichons, mustard aioli and toasted brioche. Then, here’s a clue, your main will consist of braised lamb shoulder with white bean and mint puree served on chargrilled eggplant. And for dessert come armed with a sweet tooth as petit fours will be on offer along with tea and coffee.
Or… is that really the menu? Maybe we’re feeding you false information. You’ll just have to turn up and find out.
Also throughout the evening enjoy a range of unlimited Morgan’s Bay sparkling, white and red wine as well as beers and soft drink. And before you bust those killer moves on the dance floor why not cheers your mystery team with a 70s cocktail special.
It’s set to be a fun evening and a really unique to experience at the Zoo, so grab your favourite detectives and come along. I just hope you have the koalafications to get through the night and solve the mystery, it’ll be hawkward if not.
