Melbourne coffee addicts, for one-day only you can get your caffeine hit from one of eight different espresso martinis in Melbourne’s first Mr. Black Espresso Martini Festival coming to Melbourne this November.

What happens when a British bartender is asked for a drink to “wake me up and then fuck me up”? The creation of the espresso martini of course! Unsurprisingly, Melburnians have picked espresso martinis as their go-to drink ever since. In fact, just a year ago one of our fav Melb bars, The Arbory, started offering espresso martinis on tap. This year, we’ve got a whole festival dedicated to it!

It’s no surprise that Melbourne-based distillery and coffee roasting house Mr. Black Spirits is the mastermind behind this festival and we are loving their grand plan! They’ll have you sipping on eight different espresso martinis, with variations made from spiced rum, Don Julio tequila and more! Traditionalists need not worry as they can still enjoy a classic espresso martini.

Mr Black Espresso Martini Festival, On The List Melbourne

Die-hard espresso martini lovers can also enjoy a cocktail-making class and learn about the production process of Mr. Black as well as the history behind Melbourne’s favourite caffeinated drink. We hear there will also be a game of coffee pong (think beer pong with caffeine). Those with a sweet tooth will also be able to nibble on a selection of sweets from Melbourne’s most-loved bakeries.
