Melbourne Music Week is arguably one of Australia’s biggest and most coveted celebrations of all things music, because let’s face it people, not only do we LOVE our music, but we know our Music too.

If you’re living in this great city chances are you have unique taste in music so of course we’re opening our ears to a full week of all things rad in the Melbourne music scene.

But if you’ve clicked this link I’m going to go ahead and assume you would like a little assistance in choosing exactly who you’re going to rock out to, with such a variety of acts and events we’ll be the first to admit its no easy feat narrowing down your choices, but lucky for you we’re pretty good at lists!

So what should you go to first? Why, the opening night of course! If you get your groovy little bottoms down to the uber cool venue of the former Royal Women’s Hospital this Friday the 13th (spoooookkkkyyyyyy) you can get your freak on to Dj’s Loose Joints, embrace your arty farty side with the interactive display Swell, and then top off the night with a killer line up of Gypsy And The Cat, The Harpoons, and The Dorsal Fins! Wooo!

Further in the program, you could also find yourself getting into the swing of things at the New Orleans Street Party, a night of celebration of Melbourne’s greatest laneways, restaurants, nightlife and of course music all mixed in with with funky New Orleans vibes!

Another total must-see is Video Killed The Radio, a multi sensory live music and visual feast of pure awesomeness! Experience a range of mediums including textiles, photography, sculpture, music and video. It doesn’t get much more Melbourne then that!

Something else we think will totally rock your world is Lost Children found, a warehouse project that will see you tucked away in Melbourne’s North enjoying some bevvies and burgers from the beer and food trucks on site, and dancing the night away to a killer line up, including Melbourne Legends World’s End Press.

If you’re still not fully satisfied with your music fix check out the Melbourne Shuffle-athon and Record Store Day too!

Got the tunes down pat? Check out some other cheeky options to get up to this weekend!
