This morning On The List had the pleasure of being the first in Melbourne to check out the truly exquisite Kendall and Kylie range for Forever New. The 19-piece collection is stunning and a perfect choice for Forever New’s first collaboration.
Moment of truth, when I first heard about the collection I expected it to be a bit younger (probably the polite way of putting it) but I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised to learn that the girls have used this collection as a sign they’re ‘growing up’.
It’s mature and elegant while still being playful and feminine. The colour choice fits in perfectly with the current Forever New look, and is exceptionally Melbourne (well played girls) It’s our staple black, with our summer white and a splash of the prettiest blush.
Melbourne Central Stylist Raquel Ryan’s first words to us when they unleashed us on the store this morning, like the ravishing bloggers that we are, was to touch the products. Unlike a museum, she encouraged us to get in there and really feel the clothes. In her opinion this is what is the true standout of the collection. The fabrics are so specifically chosen, are the perfect mixture of light and structured and the best part is that they are lined with the most deliciously soft fabric. They’re products that will not only look good but feel good too. Winning!
My biggest fear is cropped tops, so I was a bit sheepish when shown the seriously cropped options in the range. I was however given 2 hot tips that I recommend to other young players. First one was to buy a size bigger than normal so instead of being stuck to your (non existent) abs, it will sit looser on your body and show less. The other option is to pop them over the top of a tight white shirt.
My favourite piece has to be the leopard pattern blush jumpsuit. Now don’t go gasping too loudly that the girls have chosen leopard print because they have muted the print beautifully and softened it in a feminine and modern way. It’s stunning and is used for the jump suit and a loose cropped top.
If you’re keen on getting your hands on one of these pieces be warned that they’ve chosen to do a limited run (so you aren’t sharing the limelight at the next pop up bar), so it’s only for sale across some of the Forever New stores in Melbourne (Melbourne Central, Doncaster, Chadstone) and a few pieces only are available on-line. Kendall and Kylie will be at Chaddy tomorrow if you want to pop by and see them.
