The Japanese Princess: Lyric Opera

The one-act opera ‘comique’ is just an hour in length and is a light-hearted, entertaining, “rom com-style” production perfect for a first time opera-goer or a delightful discovery for the seasoned opera fan. The Japanese Princess tells the story of Kornelis, an art student with a passion for all things Japanese, and his fiancé Lena. Kornelis becomes obsessed with the portrait of a mysterious Japanese princess called Ming which makes Lena question herself, her relationship and Kornelis’ sanity, in a fusion of singing, theatre and movement.
