FREE BEER AND PORK SOUVAS THIS WEEKEND AS PART OF THE ULTIMATE FLAVOUR EXCHANGE FOR BLAND SHIRE

saturday

The forecast is hot and spicy for Church Street Richmond this Saturday 10 November, with crowds of Hawaiian shirt-donning, flavour-enthusiasts expected to contribute to the Bring Flavour to Bland drive – an initiative led by new Aussie man-of-the-moment and internet sensation, Ray Smith.

Hosted by Goose Island, in partnership with Jimmy Grants Richmond, a flavour-inspiration drop-off point will be activated between 2pm-5pm, enticing Melburnians to share flavour suggestions in return for a free Goose Island IPA to people aged 18+ and a newly-launched Jimmy Grants pork souvlaki, appropriately named The Fiery Greek.

With Ray Smith calling on the nation to dig deep in the flavour department and contribute anything that will help spice up life in the Shire of Bland – a remote, rural community which wants in on the flavoursome hospitality options found in Melbourne and Sydney.

Since then, Ray announced via video release, that the Bland Shire Council will be leveraging partnerships with Goose Island and souvlaki specialists Jimmy Grants to create the first ever Bland Flavour Festival in Bland on Saturday 17 November.

Items contributed this Saturday will help fuel inspiration for the free festival of full-flavoured beer, food and entertainment.

Ray will be on hand at Jimmy Grants in his famous Hawaiian shirt to personally thank those who contribute to the important community initiative.

So whether it’s hot sauce, a curry recipe or even Red Hot Chilli Peppers memorabilia and a Spice Girls mixed tape, Melbourne locals have the chance to contribute to the cause. Did we mention there will be free beer and souvas? Enough said.
