Constantly Screaming- Melbourne International Comedy Festival

wed - sun

Frankie McNair and Maddy Weeks are two mates with a lot of hates. Between them they have 48 years of things to scream about. This is a show with a script written entirely in CAPS LOCK.

HAVE YOU EVER SCREAMED AT A BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE? HAVE YOU EVER SCREECHED AT A BUDDING FLOWER? HAVE YOU EVER CURSED LOUDLY AT THE SIGHT OF A NEWBORN BUB? IS YOUR INTERNAL SCREAM SOMETIMES LOUDER THAN YOUR IRL SCREAM? DO YOU FIND YOURSELF INTERNALLY SCREAMING WHEN MEN CALL YOU ‘darlin’? DOES YOUR BRAIN HIT THE SAME NOTE AS WHITNEY (RIP) WHEN YOU GET ASKED ‘How queer are you though? Like, 50/50?’ DOES YOUR INTERNAL MONOLOGUE SOUND LIKE THE LEAD SINGER FROM THE DARKNESS WHEN YOU WALK PAST A CHARITY MUGGER AND THEY SAY ‘hello there!’ AND YOU JUST KEEP LOOKING AT YOUR PHONE AND FEEL LIKE AN ASS BUT AT LEAST YOU DIDN’T REJECT THEM VERBALLY?
LIFE IS WEIRD AND WONDERFUL AND ALSO SOMETIMES SH!T AND CONFUSING! LET’S SCREAM ABOUT IT!
Frankie McNair blurs the lines between stand-up, physical comedy and a Liza Minnelli fever dream. She’s been screaming on stage since 2017 and in 2018 she performed to sell out crowds at Melbourne International Comedy Festival as part of ACT Like A Lady, sold out her headliner show at Polit Bar and was a RAW Comedy State Finalist. She’s also known for being half of comedy duo Sweaty Pits, who’s debut show Pity Party was nominated for Best Comedy at the 2018 Melbourne Fringe and also won the 2018 Sydney Fringe Festival New Zealand Tour Ready Award. She has recently performed at the Canberra Comedy Festival.
Her mum frequently asks her if she needs money.

Maddy Weeks is a Canberra-based comedian, born and bred in the Big Merino’s shadow. She was a praised scholar in high school achieving a satisfactory ATAR and entrance into a prestigious university setting her up for a financially stable
future. With everything going so well, she decided to drop out of uni and write jokes instead of essays. Maddy Weeks has now been screaming on stage for three years! She has performed in sold-out shows at the Canberra and Melbourne Comedy Festivals as a member of comedy troupe ACT Like a Lady and was a 2018 RAW Comedy State Finalist. She’s done spots all around the country, sharing the stage with many legends of Australian comedy. Described as having ‘oodles of confidence and charisma, landing every punchline with the finesse of a 20-year comedy veteran’ (BMA Magazine), her high-energy performances are sure to leave you uplifted, laughing and maybe just a little bit concerned.
