On The Listers, we know most of you are all about basking in the sun, and let’s face it, kicking back at the beach is practically a national pastime. So why not mix business with pleasure and bring work to your favorite outdoorsy spot?

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Australia is hosting an outdoor co-working space at City Square to get Melbournians into a super cool new type of workspace. On The Listers, meet the green-desk. A green-desk, as it sounds, is a workspace in the great outdoors. Even though, we’ve got some pretty fickle minded weather, why not try this out on April 24 and see if it works for you? You can register here. It’s a great way to get some fresh air, your daily dose of Vitamin D, and even a boost in creativity and focus!

Want to try green-desk(ing) early? The guys are also encouraging you to have a crack on your own between April 18-24 and post about it! Don’t forget to tag @work_with_nature and hashtag #greendesking and #workwithnature.

If you don’t have a spot in mind, we’ve compiled some of our favorite nature spots in Melbourne as well as surrounding places to grab a bite after an hour or two of hard work.

NORTH
Carlton Gardens
Imagine having a quick work meeting surrounded by lakes, incredible flora, and a stunning world-heritage building. Make the most of your little trip out of the office and smash some ice cream from one of our favorites like Pidapipo or Messina.

Melbourne Zoo
Want to get some work done on the wild side? Write reports alongside orangutans, exotic butterflies, elephants and more! Before you go off to grab some delish brunch at Wide Open Road, take some time to feed the giraffes. They need their morning feed too!

SOUTH
Botanic Gardens
Southsiders can hit up the internationally renowned Botanic Gardens where you can speedily reply to work emails, then grab a bite to eat at Jardin Tan or The Botanical.

St. Kilda Beach
More of a beach babe or bro? Grab your laptop and make your way down to St. Kilda Beach to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. Bonus points if you get to pat a cute dog! Don’t forget to reward yourself with some pizza and PIMM’s at Republica (their potato pizza is a must-try!). You could also head over to Ichi Ni Izakaya for some delish yakitori or sushi. But leave space for their Ichi Licks ice cream, their green tea & biscuit is a must!

Want to get in on the fun? Follow these 3 easy steps!
